Based on our own experience and knowledge, Medex has been producing honey-based syrups since 1954. Syrups are full of beehive treasures (especially honey and propolis), enriched with herbs and plant essences. They follow folk tradition and wisdom for using precious gifts of nature (such as thyme, spruce tips, mallow, sage and iceland moos). They are produced according to the highest standards, and the main healing substances are always of proven quality. Syrups can be taken by children and adults for a variety of purposes.

Honey – A Basis and Guarantee for Quality

The main ingredient of all Medex syrups (except syrup Sage and Iceland moss) is honey. This sweet natural gift, produced by bees using nectar from flowers (floral honey) or from secretions of insects (honeydew honey), ensures the microbiological stability of the products and their high quality. Honey combined with other natural ingredients makes syrups tasty, efficient and likeable.

Propolis, or sealant, contains a number of different plant resins that bees gather from the buds and sprouts of trees. The main substances in propolis are bioflavonoids, which are natural plant pigments that protect plants against microorganisms.

Thyme is one of the most widespread and popular herbs with a very distinctive smell. It is known for its effect on respiratory tract.

Mallow is an edible honey plant, which is commonly used in syrups for mouth mucous membrane.

Sage contains essential oil, which is a volatile and aromatic mixture of water-insoluble compounds, mostly thujone. Extract from sage leaves used in our solution does not contain this oil and is therefore suitable also for pregnant or nursing women.

Iceland moss is native to pine forests in northern regions and high-mountain pastures where the air is at its cleanest. It has beneficial effects on mouth mucous membrane.

Spruce tips have been traditionally harvested, mixed with sugar or honey and left in the sun. This remains a popular recipe for home-made spring concoctions.

Beetroot is a rich source of protein, minerals and vitamins and therefore a very popular food for energy and imune system. HEALTHY RESPIRATORY TRACT

Interesting facts about honey

It is believed that honey history dates as far back as 10 to 20 million years ago and the practice of beekeeping to produce honey, apiculture, dates back to at least 700 BC.

On average, a honey bee produces 1/12 of a teaspoon of honey over the course of its life. Two tablespoons of honey would fuel a honey bee flying once around the world.

Honey includes all the substances necessary to sustain life, including enzymes, vitamins, minerals, and water. It also contains pinocembrin, an antioxidant also found in propolis associated with improved brain functioning.
