2018 Bisnode Slovenia awarded Medex with the AAA Gold Certificate of Excellence 2017.

Medex joined The Beekepers associasion of Slovenia in the celebrations of the first World Bee Day in Slovenia from 18 to 20 May.

The readers of Reader's Digest Slovenia participating in the Trusted Brand survey identified the Medex brand as the most trusted brand in honey and honey products and awarded it the Trusted Brand 2018.
2017 The Managers’ Association of Slovenia (the largest association of managers in Slovenia) awarded Aleš Mižigoj with a lifetime achievement award for management achievements.

Medex shop (Prodajalna Medex) at the Miklošičeva street in Ljubljana received The Ljubljana Quality Mark (LQ) 2017 and the Ljubljana Quality Local Label (LQL) 2017.

Medex received the recognition of the employment portal Mojedelo.com and was awarded with the title of The reputable employer 2017.
 
2016

In the Best Buy Award Slovenia 2015/2016 study Slovenian consumers chose Milk Thistle as the winner of the liver food supplement category.

In the QUDAL quality (QUALITY meDAL) study, conducted under the auspices of the Swiss organization ICERTIAS, Slovenian consumers awarded Medex the title of the highest quality bearer in the honey category.

Excellence QUDAL medals for excellence also received:
- all Medex nasal sprays,
- Detox (recipient of the medal in the category of liver nutritional supplements) and
- Milk Thistle (recipient of the medal in the category of liver nutritional supplements).

The Marketing Association of Slovenia awarded Medex with the Marketing Excellence Award 2016 in the category of small and medium enterprises, B2B and B2C segment, at the 21st Slovenian Marketing Conference.

The Marketing Association of Slovenia listed Medex among the finalists for the Marketing Excellence Award 2015.

In the Best Buy Award Slovenia 2013/2014 study Slovenian consumers selected Medex as a honey producer offering the best price / quality ratio on the entire Slovenian market.

Medex was included in the neutral research project Si.Brand TOP50 2013 by the Consumer Society, with the slogan "Consumers to Judge", and the Medex brand was listed among the 50 best brands and service brands in the Slovenian market.

2009 Medex becomes a market-oriented company, with its mission being the improvement of customers’ life with natural food supplements without artificial flavourings, preservatives, or colourings.

The core business becomes honey, bee-based products (apitherapy) and other natural food supplements.

Expanding abroad, Medex becomes one of the leading niche companies in the field of bee-based products (apitherapy).

The packaging for products based on bee products (apitherapy) is made in a uniform design. Standardisation of biologically active substances in the products (bioflavonoids in propolis and 10 HDA in royal jelly) occurs. Standardisation of these substances guarantees a constant content of key ingredients through the entire shelf life of the products, and consequently also guarantees their proven quality.
2008 Medex gains BRC and GMP standards for its syrups.
2007 Medex is awarded the Superbrand title.
2006 Medex is awarded the Dun & Bradstreet “Rating of the year”.
2004 The Zlati panj (Golden Beehive) trademark honey is certified with the Red Swallow national quality mark – a symbol of higher quality, issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.
2003 Medex gains the ISO 9001:2000 certificate, issued by the international certification institute TÜV Management Service GmbH.

Medex gains HACCP certification – the hazard analysis and critical control points certificate.

The opening of a renovated modern shop at Miklošičeva cesta street in Ljubljana occurs. Customers are offered a wider selection of products in a larger shop.
2002 A modern honey filling centre, where honey is isolated from the staff in the production process, opens, providing uncompromising quality.
2001 Aleša Kandus is named the Chair of the Board.

A technologically improved laboratory (renovation of the laboratory, equipment with liquid chromatography – HPLC) is opened.

The expansion of bee product-based food supplements production leads to other natural products.

The first food supplement made without bee products is made; they are capsules containing green tea, lecithin and vitamins B.
1998 The third international symposium Apimondia is organised by Medex in Portorož. The sponsor of honour is the then Slovenian president Milan Kučan.
1996 A new production line for baking wafers is opened. The capacity of the new line is 250 kg of wafers per hour.
1993 A new production line for baking of biscuits is opened. The capacity of the new line is 500 kg of biscuits per hour.
1992 Medex is transformed to a stock corporation.
1991 The breakup of Yugoslavia occurs – Medex loses 70 % of its markets.

1988 The second international symposium Apimondia is organised by Medex in Portorož.
1971-1980
1980 The shop “Narava vam nudi” (Nature has something to offer) at Miklošičeva cesta street in Ljubljana is first opened. This is the first specialised shop in the state.
1978 Medex is awarded the Red dela z zlatim vencem (Order of Work with Golden Garland) state award for achievements in production and sales.

The development centre for cooperation between Medex developers and medical specialists (Center za biotiko) is founded.

The first international symposium Apimondia is organised by Medex in Portorož; the symposium reveals novelties, findings, and results in the field of apitherapy. The sponsor of honour is Marshal Josip Broz Tito.
1972 The advanced production facilities at Linhartova cesta road in Ljubljana are opened. Medex is the lead innovator in the field of bee product processing and production.

The most important novelties are the honey extracting facility and a device for the production of blended bee products (Melbrosia at that time).

The TV commercial for Melbrosia is the first TV commercial for Medex created by the famous Slovenian illustrator Miki Muster.
1961-1970
1970 Medex becomes the largest honey and bee product retailer in Yugoslavia. There are 15 sales representatives employed to travel across Yugoslavia.

Medex starts cooperating with physicians, and the products are used for healing purposes.

The production of food supplements based on bee products is opened.
1968 Headquarters facilities at Miklošičeva cesta street in Ljubljana are purchased.
1966 Warehouse facilities at Linhartova cesta road in Ljubljana are purchased.

It is there where the first Apicenter is established – a laboratory for the development of Medex products based on bee products.
1963 A laboratory is established and the foundation for apitherapy product development (products based on bee products) was formed. It is the first laboratory of its kind in Slovenia, Yugoslavia, and even Europe.

The company starts with the processing of bee products (beside honey and beeswax, they started using royal jelly, propolis, pollen, and honey bee venom). Since bee products, except honey, do not depend on weather conditions and a rich harvest, the company starts a full-time production. Moreover, these products are always in stock, because they are essential for the survival of bee colonies.

The company is licenced to produce the Melbrosia trademark product (with the licence owner situated in Vienna). Melbrosia is the first blend of honey, pollen, royal jelly and propolis, and is blended in a simple mixer.
1961 Aleš Mižigoj is named the general manager of the company and held this position for 40 years. He saved the company from bankruptcy.
1954-1960
1959 Marjan Jager is named the general manager of the company.
1954 The Chief Cooperative Association of Slovenia (Glavna Zadružna zveza Slovenije) establishes the company Trgovsko podjetje Medex Export-Import, which specialises in the export of honey and for supplying beekeepers with beekeeping tools and accessories.

Warehouse and production are located at Gosposvetska ulica street (in Kolizej), and headquarters were at Cigaletova ulica street, both in Ljubljana.

The father of the company and its first manager is Miran Goslar, who led the company for five years.
